Anti-President Donald Trump United States Women’s Soccer team star Meagan Rapinoe has been benched for the game against England.
The woman, who has become more famous for her statements against the president and protesting the National Anthem, was kept on the bench for the semi-final game on Tuesday, The New York Post reported.
USA coach Jill Ellis has inserted Christen Press in Rapinoe’s place, joining Alex Morgan and Tobin Heath on the front line.
Fox Sports reported at halftime that it was a hamstring injury that kept Rapinoe sidelined.
Press’ header in the 10th minute put the US ahead 1-0 and they took a 2-1 lead to halftime.
This is the second time this tournament Ellis has raised eyebrows with her lineup decisions. Ellis kept Lindsay Horan out for a majority of the USWNT’s quarterfinal win over France in favor of Sam Mewis.
Rapinoe, who has also angered fans of other teams with her posing after she scores a goal, has been a lightning rod of controversy.
The United States Women’s Soccer team is currently on a tear in the World Cup tournament and is the odds on favorite to win.
But US soccer star Megan Rapinoe, who apparently assumes they have won, said in an interview that there is no f**king way she would go to the White House.
Should Rapinoe stop commenting on politics?
“Psssh, I’m not going to the f*****g White House,” she told the show Eighty By Eight before the reporter could finish the question.
“No. I’m not going to the White House. We’re not gonna be invited. I doubt it,” she said in the interview, CNN reported on Wednesday.

President Donald Trump heard the news and issued a statement of his own on Twitter that made the soccer star look extremely small.
“Women’s soccer player, @mPinoe, just stated that she is ‘not going to the F…ing White House if we win,’” he wrote.
“Other than the NBA, which now refuses to call owners, owners (please explain that I just got Criminal Justice Reform passed.
“Black unemployment is at the lowest level in our Country’s history, and the poverty index is also best number EVER), leagues and teams love coming to the White House.
“I am a big fan of the American Team, and Women’s Soccer, but Megan should WIN first before she TALKS! Finish the job!
“We haven’t yet invited Megan or the team, but I am now inviting the TEAM, win or lose. Megan should never disrespect our Country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since so much has been done for her & the team.
“Be proud of the Flag that you wear. The USA is doing GREAT!” the president said in a series of tweets on the matter on Wednesday.
